The road to fame and fortune is not always a smooth one and there may be several prices to pay along the way.
In a recent discussion with an up and coming artist about attending an important training seminar they were faced not only with the high ticket priced enrollment, but all of the ‘add-ons’ in small print.
Just one being housing cost and the real sticker shock came up during this investigation. The prices to say the least were outrageous; up to $2,000 per night, and this was a 16 day seminar!!!
Further investigation found some affordable rooms, but as they read the reviews - 200 of 300 reviews were negative and 90% of those were comments about ‘bugs’.
I had to cover my mouth to keep from laughing out loud and said,
"Yes, that is one of the hazards of not owning your own RV”.
I won’t print their reply…rofl.
I recommended they keep searching and hung up the phone.
About 20 minutes later the phone rang again, the voice on the other end was saying,
“Well they may as well lock me up! I’m certifiably nuts!!!”
Once again trying to keep a straight face but yet introduce a little humor into the call I ask, “What was your first clue?”
Now we were both laughing.
I again listened while they explained.
“After our talk I decided to relax a bit with a cup of coffee, so I went to the kitchen to make one. Now, here I am just minding my own business - when out of the corner of my eye I catch a glimpse of something small, very small on my counter top. My first instinct was “BUG”!! I was about to bash it - when on closer observation saw that it was a ‘loose screw’ from something I had been repairing.”
Needless to say I could no longer contain my outright laughter at the vision of this going on.
“Yeah, I thought you’d see the humor in it” came the reply.
Before I hung up I told them ‘remember ‘you have to kiss a lot of toads before you find the prince’ and you’ll have a lot more ‘happenings’ on your road to fame and fortune”
So what’s ‘bugging’ you on your road to fame and fortune?
Keep smiling, it’ll make people wonder what you’re thinking.
